Our chapter "adopted" a Marine on his Middle East deployment, sending him care packages from home. Below he visits the chapter and receives a certificate of gratitude from us.

Our Marine

Our chapter purchased a brick in memory of a local serviceman killed in the Middle East. It was placed on the walk of honor at the Overland Park Korean War Memorial.

A particularly rewarding project was presenting tactile U.S. flags to sight-impaired people. These special flags, along with Braille Pledges of Allegiance, are created by DAR chapters, one of them the Newton Chapter in Kansas. One of the recipients reported having heard much about our country's flag, but never having been able to "see" the flag.

Chapter members participate in events on the state, national, and local level.
