Joining DAR
Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership in DAR.
Four Steps to DAR Membership
There are four basic steps to follow to join DAR:

Visit the National Society website to learn more about these four steps.
The National Society accepts service, with some exceptions, for the period between 19 April 1775 (Battle of Lexington) and 26 November 1783 (withdrawal of British troops from New York). For a complete list of acceptable service, please visit the DAR web site.
Finding that your ancestor is already proven by a DAR member can minimize the research needed to prove your line. Be sure to visit DAR's online research website.
