About Our Chapter Prairie Flint Hills Chapter was organized 12 June 1991 in Dover, Kansas. Organizing Regent was Mrs. Harry J. Carpenter. The Chapter takes its name from the rich Kansas Prairies; Dover can be thought of as the "front door" to the Flint Hills. Bison, deer, and antelope grazed the wide expanse of lush grass when white men first settled this region. Abundant cattle, some trucked in from as far away as Texas, now grow fat on the mineral-rich blue stem grass during the hot Kansas summers. Chapter meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Prospective members are very welcome! Please email us for meeting details. The members of Prairie Flint Hills Chapter are comprised of women from a variety of professions and endeavors. We all are vitally interested and involved in the objects of DAR and devote volunteer hours to the community, veterans services, patriotic endeavor, education, and historical preservation. And -- of course -- we also love genealogy! Contact Prairie Flint Hills Chapter Return to Home Page |
