Daughters of the American Revolution is comprised of female descendants of individuals who served in or gave material aid to the cause of American Independence.
An applicant for membership must be no less than 18 years of age. Her ancestor may have signed the Declaration of Independence, served in the military, served in civil service or provided other patriotic service. An ancestor can be male or female.
Women may join a local chapter or become a member-at-large. Application is subject to approval by the National Society. The Daughters of the American Revolution does not discriminate based on race, color, or religion. You must prove your lineal, bloodline descent from a Revolutionary patriot with documents such as:
