Dodge City Chapter DAR was organized December 15, 1925, and is named for the chapter's historic hometown, Dodge City. The city was named for Colonel Richard I. Dodge, commander of Fort Dodge.
America's Veterans are of special importance to the Chapter.  The Chapter provides comfort items to the Kansas Soldier's Home on a regular basis.  The Chapter supports the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery of Fort Dodge, a military cemetery in Ford County.

Our Chapter is interested in history and in preserving it.  Over the years the Chapter has participated in relocating several of the Santa Fe Trail Markers in Ford County as they became endangered by road construction.  The Chapter placed brass tablet markers on the Santa Fe Trail Marker in Wright Park and on the site of the first sod house in Dodge City at 305 N Second Ave., the present location of Lopp Motors.
On May 22, 2021, the Dodge City chapter hosted the rededication of the Wet/Dry Route granite marker #64 located one mile east of Fort Dodge, KS. This was the leading DAR commemorative event of the Kansas Bicentennial Santa Fe Trail 200th Anniversary. Commemorative wreaths from the Dodge City DAR Chapter, the Anasazi DAR Chapter from Glendale AZ and the Joseph Plumb Martin Children of the American Revolution Society were laid at the site. These wreaths were later presented to the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery at Fort Dodge for use during special events including the 2021 Memorial Day Service where the US Army placed them under the large flags in honor of the veterans interred in the cemetery.
