Our Chapter has always been quite active working with the Colmery-Oneil VA Medical Center in Topeka. We have had someone on the VAVS Board since 1952.
We have given out a number of awards to the community leaders and to school children for their accomplishments.
We always observe Constitution Week by participating in the signing of proclamations by the Governor and Mayor as well as placing signs around town and announcements on radio and TV.
We collect gifts and labels for the DAR and Indian Schools and we give books to the NSDAR, KSDAR, and local libraries.
We give a tea for newly-naturalized citizens once a year, following Naturalization Court in the Federal Building.
We continue to give pages of Genealogical Records to national, state, and local libraries.
We help on Literacy Challenge and do what we can to promote the flying of the Flag of the USA and public relations for DAR.
